{"id":906,"date":"2011-10-04T19:19:12","date_gmt":"2011-10-04T19:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bettersfamilyrecipes.com\/?p=906"},"modified":"2011-10-04T19:19:12","modified_gmt":"2011-10-04T19:19:12","slug":"cowboy-calzones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bettersfamilyrecipes.com\/?p=906","title":{"rendered":"Cowboy Calzones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Make Pioneer Womans Pizza Dough, then:<\/p>\n<p>Calzone Filling:<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 lb breakfast sausage<br \/>\n1 lb ground beef<br \/>\n1\/2 diced onion<br \/>\n8 oz can of Rotel (I left it out and we didn&#8217;t miss it!, you could do diced tomatoes for less kick)<br \/>\n8 oz whole milk ricotta cheese<br \/>\n1\/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese<br \/>\n1\/2 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese<br \/>\n1 egg, beaten<br \/>\nSalt and Pepper<\/p>\n<p>1. Preheat oven to 450<br \/>\nIn a large skillet brown ground beef, sausage and onion over medium heat. Drain excess grease<\/p>\n<p>2. Add Rotel and cook for 2 mins. remove from heat and let cool slightly.<\/p>\n<p>3. Combine ricotta, mozzarella, monterey jack, and egg in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n<p>4. Combine cheese mixture with meat mixture.<\/p>\n<p>5. Divide dough into 8 equal balls. Roll into 6 inch circles.<\/p>\n<p>6. Place one-eighth of the mixture in the middle of each circle.<\/p>\n<p>7. Fold one half of the circle over and pinch the edges to seal. Brush with olive oil.<\/p>\n<p>8.
